Blogs are great.  Thanks to Gen Y desires to connect on line, and web 2.0, we can use blogs to pole the marketplace. That’s what I did a few weeks back and discovered that  the majority of you were not crazy about  Meredith and my book’s title nor did you like  the first attempt at the cover

My office-mate and graphics designer, Mike Svat of 360 DPI got busy and created a new cover.  He read your comments and agreed with much of what was said. Thanks! Here is another  cover and we also changed the title to The Seven Women Project-Your Personal Guides to Success in Work, Play and Dress. We got it- You to the Power of Seven was cheesy…

Meredith,my co-author and the voice of Gen X  and I  a writing the final chapter and will have the galleys ready in a month or so.  If you would like a copy of the galley please respond and we will send one to you.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

I like the new cover and can’t wait for the book!
    Please send me the galleys…

  2. Kathleen Moore says:

Hmmm….I did not see the earlier version. I can tell you that this cover would not draw me to a shelf in a bookstore to open it up and learn more! It’s just kind of blah (no offense to your graphic artist). Could you work with something that implies more action/motion?

  3. James says:

My favorite pics have been of the 7 women together! On the cover, you could have 2 of the group “in an office”, 2 “at play”, and 2 “in formals” while 1 is taking notes…gets the point across graphically, re-emphasizes the brand, and directly relates to the title.
Then again…I don’t like the new Coke can either, so what do I know?

I would like a copy of the Seven Women project galley.
    Thanks!

Simple which is good, but doesn’t engage.

  6. Jimenez says:

I like the new cover and title of the book. I like the visual concept of the link bracelet. I don’t know if you think it would be too cheesy. Could you try seven different faces within the links? To symbolize the seven women linked in unity. Just a thought, please send me the galleys.

  7. Thanks for all your suggestions- Jim, Bob, Terry, Kathleen and Kim. The book is almost ready to go to print and your ideas are being considered… thank you for taking the time to write. Karen

I agree with Kathleen. It needs more action/motion. James and Jimenez both had good ideas. I can’t wait to read the book, but thats because you kept us up to date on the project. That made me curious. The cover should do the same.

  9. Patty says:

I would like to see the other version. I like this one but it doesnt tell me enough.

  10. Mary says:

I would put images of the 7 women rather than the bracelet, from a marketing perspective it would not catch my attention on the bookshelf needs to be more polished graphically.

  11. Dayna Steele says:

Make the colors a little brighter and the font bolder. Can’t wait to read!
